Shimla is too over-crowded these days.. Better to explore places like Solan, Dharamshala and ofcourse Kullu Manali... Mcleodganj is a must if you are into Buddhism or Drugs.
September is best to go there, i m from simla, and manali it is amazing,,i love manali, go to rohtang pass, kullu everyhting is worth to see, belive me
