Umm Mukesh, birdie is right too. But that was Qatar in the past. I know people that have been deported for the exact reasons that birdie has cited.

Most Qataris are quite tolerant, but if it becomes a nuisance to them, then you're in for trouble.

And even today, if you do what birdie has mentioned, park 100s of cars, clap and sing loudly and if the cops are called in, anything can happen, right from disbanding the gathering, deportation or w/e .

ah the-birdie, spreading your fallacies. What you are talking about, was Qatar 10-15 years ago.

There are churches and there is a Hindu temple too.

The Hindu temple is actually a villa that is close to the mall roundabout (I think), don't remember its exact location. But if you inquire as ICC (Indian Cultural Center or maybe even the Indian Embassy), they will be able to give you the details.

Every day at that temple, there is a different group, because there are Hindus that worship different Gods. So you'll find different religious groups.

Mukesh, i am not against Temple

but you should know the whole story.

the authorities had given a little freedom to Hindus to assemble and pray. Not a written permission, But they did not try to stop Hindus. But people tried to "misuse" the freedom - every friday loudly clapping hands and singing songs,, parking 100s of cars in front of Qatari houses....etc etc

one fine morning the temple was "disappeared".... atleast the "temple officials" were disappeared

why to take risk,,, pray at your home, naaaa
