been in Qatar for 25 years and never heard of this city!

it looks pretty far but am not sure if it worth it?

is just an old city that looks like Soaq waqeef? then I can go to the Souq and to the zoo to see the ostriches!

You definitely need a 4x4 to get to the old film set.

FYI, it's definitely not a city by any means, but more like the remnants of an old, fake (produced for a film production) town.

It's absolutely worth the trip, but i recommend going with someone who has been there before, especially in the case of those of you who are like me and are inexperienced offroaders (you can easily get bogged in the soft sand and the wet sand!)

Having said that, if you're a confident 4x4er and you just need directions from Doha...

Head out as if you were going to Dukhan, and when you get to the signs that say 'Zikreet' - take a right turn..... you'll go past the Arabic school and several run-down houses and such... when the road ends, just keep on going til you can see the coastline.

Follow the coastline up until you see these strange turret-like-constructions on top of several jebels, and head inland from there... you should be able to see the film set within a couple of minutes!

Good location on the google earth link DaRuDe!

Been there a couple of times with my mates. Go safe, take a 4x4, there are some parts with really soft sand, pop up just like that and if you're in a saloon, you're......

Good luck and bring a GPS! Saves your butt out there sometimes! =D

Guess you are new here.

Have you ever been to Zakreet? did you ever notice the board precautions on road side. BE AWARE OF OSTRICHES THERE.

OH PLUS ONE OF our QL member had a nice experience there on one fine friday attacked by those ostriches.

DaRuDe ..ostriches in Film City?!!??

Is that a proper film City or just a open piece of land?...is it still being used (other than the triebeca guys)?

A film city usually has sets, location, props, makeup rooms, editing rooms, buildings, restaurants etc...
