UAE to Qatar via Road, need some answers and help!
I have a residence visa for both Qatar and the UAE, i want to travel to Qatar by car, i know that i would need to cross into Saudi to do that. But my questions are,
1. can i stay as long as i want in Qatar and the UAE if i am traveling to and fro via road and have permanent residences in both the countries?
2. Are their any restrictions?
3. And can i use my car[with uae no. plate] in qatar without problems while i stay here, given i have driving license of both qatar and uae?
4. Also are there any transit restriction from saudi? Do i need to come back within certain time if i cross across to these countries via saudi?
5. Do i need insurance?
6. How much would the total trip cost?
7. Is it cheaper and less time consuming then air travel?
please reply! thanks & happy new year.
P.S i am a student and i usually travel with flydubai but i wanted to do long drive back home to qatar as it seems more fun and exciting plus i can use my own car once i am here which is important to me.
you have to get transit visa from Saudi embassy
then you can travel with your own car
when you are in saudi emigration there you have to pay
for insurance for your car and there is some other fee i dont remember how much
after you are in Qatar border the same procedure will be there. and insurance for your car depends how long you stay in Doha you have to pay
I have a residence visa for both Qatar and the UAE,
This is illegal!
3. And can i use my car[with uae no. plate] in qatar without problems while i stay here, given i have driving license of both qatar and uae?
It's OK, but your license is only valid where you are resident.
4. Also are there any transit restriction from saudi? Do i need to come back within certain time if i cross across to these countries via saudi?
You have a day I believe
5. Do i need insurance?
Yes!
6. How much would the total trip cost?
Depends on how fast you want to go!
7. Is it cheaper and less time consuming then air travel?
Cheaper, yes, time consuming - more, lots more
P.S it seems more fun and exciting
It isn't fun or exciting.
