Don't go to Europe due to "Icelandic eruption: Grimsvotn volcano" now & much more to come in near future. You will be forced to stay in Airports & face the misery if you travel. Stay at home & live hapily.

Just got Schengen Visa for my wife for our forthcoming trip - got it from the French Embassy - painless and they turn it around in one day - very helpfull - but make sure you have ALL the documentation avaiable and in an organised fashion - they are busy people and will chew you up if you havent ALL the documents ready. You need to make an appointment through their website.

My suggestion you better arrange the visa from here and then go to India and fly from there because i think getting visa from India will be difficult or u need to book a package from good travels agencies.

but i feel what lincoln pirate advice contact European embassy will be a better option.

which country are you planning to visit first? Go to that Embassy and get an application form for Shengen visa, they will give you the application along with a list of documents required.

Just search 'Shengen visa' you will get all the details.
