FLIGHTMARE! I expected it to be busy over the holiday season and you would think that Doha airport authorities would plan properly to manage the expected flood of people exiting all at once. Yesterday I am several other thousand passengers went through an experience that can only be described as dangerous and highly traumatic. We expect queues and delays at busy times but what is not acceptable was the complete lack of crowd control. Hundreds of passengers filled the departure hall; there were physically too many people per square metre for safety, some trying to push their way towards the check in desks and other pushing towards the security point before immigration. This resulted in a serious crowd crush situation that airport staff did not try to alleviate at all. I was caught in the middle of this surging crush of people, more and more people were pushing from behind and the security were preventing a forward flow, consequently I and many many others, including children and babies were severely crushed. People were fighting, I saw a fist fight, a pregnant lady was screaming for help. My attempts to call out to the officers ahead to let the crowd move were ignored. Today I am recovering with many scapres and bruises on my body but more so from the trauma of this incident which was very frightening. Qatar airport needs to bring in some expert help as it is clearly incapable of securing the safety and comfort of its passengers.

I hope that everyone with a similar story will use Baldrick's link to lodge a complaint. Would making a police report help?

You were in the wrong terminal :-) Be sure that if you were flying 1st class and using the 1st class terminal nothing like that would have happen to you !!!

Who would care about those poor travelers that can not afford to pay a 1st class ticket???

Really sad reality!

WOW....absolutely stunning, I mean some of the things you see here in Qatar are unbelievable, but i agree with gadarene, no one cares, no one is accountable, no one will ever be, and i guess as long as you are here, you just gotta ignore certain things, but this perticular cenario seems far out, i'm really glad i'm not traveling now....

it's highly unlikely that anyone from Doha Airports Authority is ever going to read this & in the unlikely event they do,it's impossible that they would do anything about it,for the simple reason that like with everything else, there is absolutely no accountability for anything here,so no one's actually concerned about the plight of the passengers...neither the airport authorities nor the policemen stationed @ the airport will be questioned/held accountible for these events & they're unlikely to bring people in who actually know what they're doing as that will be admitting to their complete lack of expertise in the field as well as putting their jobs @ risk...now who wants that???...
