Qatar has been taking numerous steps in the field of sports. Many sporting events have been hosted by the nation and many more will be hosted.

According to QNA, the 2019 Asian Athletics Championship will be held in Doha. The decision was unanimously taken by the Asian Athletics Association (AAA) which also stated that the 2017 Asian Athletics Championship will be conducted by the Indian city, Ranchi.

In the meeting 83rd Asian Athletics Association Council meeting held recently at the headquarters of AAA in Manila, it was agreed that Doha will host the 2019 championship.

The meeting was chaired by the president of AAA, Dahlan Al-Hamad.

Also, it was stated that Doha will host the 2019 IAAF World Championship. [Source and cover image courtesy:QNA]
