Climbing in Qatar is possible

If you want to try a new sport, if you are a beginner, if you are a experimented climber, even if you are a kid or senior ,or if you only want to see something different and have a nice day, come to Zekreet and enjoy.

You don't need nothing special, we have extra climbing gears so you will be ready to climbing there.

If some one is interested feel free to have a look and ask in the group of facebook "Doha climbers"

Everything is possible if you try

Thanks to all

Hello !

Since I know the Doha climbers facebook group, I'm really interested to come to Zekreet. But my car isn't a 4x4.

Is the road really difficult or I can come with my car ?

The climbing in the pictures looks pretty intense. The straight and flat wall would be very difficult for a beginner. It is an awesome hobby to climb and a great way to get into shape.

What about us newbies to climbing? Also, any indoor rock walls we can use for when it gets too hot? Cheers!

Hello Karolina

I'm Javier, a member of the group "Doha climbers" we have been climbing here since 2011, we were the ones that start climbing in Zekreet, this spot is a sandstone wall with 10m. we have set around 12 routs till now but no one is bolted, we only have some kind of tope rope... our plan is to bolt all those lines that we can... and keep opening new routes till we have motivation...

About of the slackline we also start doing it here in Doha, but we start here for first time, so we are not very good, we use to do it once or twice a week in a park in the city and some times in the climbing spot. We have 2 lines, one of 15 and other one of 25m, so you and your line will be wellcome one more line and some one that can teach us and bring us to the next levels of slacklining hehehehe

For sure you can contact with me ([email protected]) and i can introduce you to the climbing group, anyway everybody is wellcome there, is a open group :)

See you soon

Oh yes, I saw that; "Bravo, this is great" :)

I thought I will receive some responds from someone from climbing group. But I haven’t heard anything...

Oh well...maybe I should sign up on FB and join "Doha climbers". I think this is the easiest and the fasted way to obtain some info.

Thank you for a message mimiloves2sing!

Hello mimiloves2sing

You said: “Nothing to do here....”, what about “Doha Climbers”? I thought, in Qatar you have some rock climbing groups and out-doors sports climbs, haven’t you?

Can anyone give me some info, how the sport climb looks in Qatar?

Bravo, this is great. Good to know there is something more then suv climbing.....

I always say where is the rock climbing gyms, kite flyers, frisbee flyers,

Skate boarders, rollerbladers, bmx bikers allowed to have fun?

Doesn't Qatar believe in outdoor fun or want to develop indoor sports gyms to let kids be kids? My son is 9 he loved the gym we went to that let him rock climb back home. We had scouts and fun.

Nothing to do here....

Hey All,

My name is Karolina. I am going to be relocated from the UK to Doha in a month time and I am looking for a group of people who could introduce me to the rock climbing in Qatar.

I have been climbing for a long time (sport climbing) and I would be happy to exchange the experience with someone who has been climbing for a while too. Moreover, do you have any climbing walls (training inside-door walls) in Doha?

Also, I am up for mountaineering and slacklining. I am going to bring a 25m slackline if anyone would like to have a bit of fun, I will be happy to meet.

Unfortunately I am not a fan of FB, and i don’t have an account. If anyone is interested can we exchange emails, please?

Karolina
