El Jaish defeated Lekhwiya in the final of the inaugural Qatar Cup tournament.

The final played at the Lekhwiya Stadium, El Jaish overcame Lekhwiya 4-3 in a nerve-breaking penalty shootout after the full time had ended 1-1.

Slovak winger Vladimir Weiss had put Lekhwiya ahead midway through the first half only for Kembo Ekoko to equalise late into the session.

HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani awarded the winners.

The top four finishers in the Qatar Stars League competed in the tournament.

In the semifinal, Lekhwiya had defeated Al Sailiya while El Jaish prevailed over Al Sadd.

EL Jaish is one of the best teams and i have attended the match when they did the football and a live concert program done by Indian Singer... it was wonderful watching a live concert and a foot ball match ....
