French world record in Doha!
My French friends were obviously delirious with joy. This 20-year-old athlete's event was the final competition on the final day of the IAAF World Indoor Championships.
He broke the world record in men's triple jump, on his final attempt of the final competition of the day. I was there (although these pictures are from the web). What a performance. I'm sure we'll hear more about him in the coming days.
Congratulations, France. You had to wait until the final minute for a gold medal. But what a gold medal it was.

gr8 pics as always wanderer..if you dont mind,cud u tell me ur shutter speed/aperture settings while taking these pics..i've tried using my nikond80 from the stands..but unfortunately couldnt freeze the action by using a fast shutter speed but always find that the light doesnt compensate enuff..i was at iaaf doha on sat n failed miserably at getting good pics(freezing action-given the available light)..ended up using 1/30 shutter:( and around 5.6 aperture for getting pics that were lit well but as u can magine very blurry witht the action,but can u guide me as to where i was going wrong..
he must have gone further becuase of the gold he was wearing!!...2 rings, earings and a necklace?
