Pacquiao beaten in controversial fight

Paandu
By Paandu

I like Manny Pacquiao and was stunned to see him lose in controversial circumstances. I watched the fight (bye bye to QR85 which Qtel billed me to see the fight) and I felt Manny had done enough to win. Hard luck. Will we see a rematch in November? To all my Filipino friends, I feel he should've won. It's a disaster.

it's clear that pacquiao wins, there will be no controversy or people will not react if the judges decision is clear,..something fishy going on..

PS Mike..

i'm a boxing fan..

i bet on any boxer whom i know can win..

i bet on dela hoya and miguel cotto during their match with manny.. and i did not yet decide whom to bet on Manny-Floid match, we don't even know you might bet on Manny against Floyd..

and if your a boxer Mike, i will bet my money on you if i think you can win the fight..

Mike..

im not being selective here..

i did not say Timothy was favored coz hes american, not at all..

my argument concerns the judges, if proven guilty of conspiracy then they should jail them..

EXCLAMATION POINT!!!

His gloves were too heavy with the money stuffed in them, that is why he lost.

Tigabaguio, the whole world agrees that Pacquiao should have been declared the winner.

The whole world agrees with the idea that the boxing industry is corrupted.

Pernell Whitaker gave Julio Cesar Chávez an ass beating in 1993 and the fight was declared a draw (courtesy of Don King). That's it: a gringo was denied a big "W" in his records, where? in the US of A.

So let's please cut the conspiracy BS theory that Americans are favoured simply because they fight in their own country. Now you tell me who doesn't know squat about boxing?

PERIOD!

why went into politics???

we know he lost, its the judges who is the issue here..

@Mike..

2 NBA referees were jailed for 25 years for conspiracy..

lets just wait for the verdict of the investigation..

He lost why cant you guys accept that! 2 Judges scored for Bradley 1 for Pacquiao. It is a game of 12 rounds, yes he was good in few rounds but was not impressive at all for the duration of the Fight, especially round 12 he hardly threw a punch where as Bradley was pounding him with punches. Maybe he is getting old and needs to hang up his gloves and take the dirty game of Politics more seriously.

I certainly believe that Pacquiao got robbed. This is totally different with his fight with Marquez. I think Marquez was the better boxer during their last bout. Both have thrown power punches. However, with the recent match between Manny and Timothy, it was not even a close match. It was clear that Manny stunned Timothy with his powerful left hook. You can see in Timothy's eyes a sense of fear when Manny started firing his combinations against Timothy. Sure a rematch is needed!

When I heard that Manny lost the fight (wasn't able to see it, I was at work) I felt sad for him and thought that it's really time for him to think about retirement. I thought that Bradley being the younger and hungrier fighter outboxed Manny all throughout the fight. Thats it, the curtain has fallen. Manny has grown older and could not pull the trigger anymore.

Then I saw the comments from the sports analysts all over the world Dan Raphael (espn), kevin lole (yahoo sports), harold lederman (hbo boxing analyst), floyd mayweather sr., larry merchant, max kellerman, jim lampley and even the manager of tim bradley all saying that Manny won the bout then I started thinking of what really happened in that fight. Mind you these are the same group of people who said that Marquez won his last bout against Pacquiao. What Im saying is that Its not always about the boxer, wirehead, especially if the people who are talking have been in the sports business all their lives. Filipinos love boxing no doubt about that, many of us also felt that Marquez won the the last fight against Pacquiao.

If Bradley knocked down Pacquiao and the judges ruled that Pacquiao won the fight then most of us boxing fanatics (Pinoy or otherwise) would shout LUTOOOOOO!!!!! Believe it or not.

By tigabaguio• 11 Jun 2012 20:16
tigabaguio

wire head..

good for you if you just accept and move on..

but for the most us we can't just let go of something specially if its obviously fishy..

3 old folks in our country died of heart attack after the fight..

im not concluding that the cause was due to judges decision..

what i wanted to say is that we are not like you that can easily let go of things and move on, some take this seriously and maybe the only entertainment for them..

most pinoy's spared time to watch the fight

so i guess we have the right to react and to tell our own judgement too..

the same can be said about the last fight with marquez. some people thought marquez should've won the fight. and we said the same things the last time pacquiao lost a fight. even blamed the new gloves he was wearing. when will we grow up and accept defeat with dignity? i stand by the words i used.

i'm not saying that the decision was fair. maybe it isn't. maybe it was a fixed match. but since we were not the judges of the match hence we were not in a position to influence the outcome. the same can be said in other aspects of life. i thought it was not right for corona to be impeached, nor was it right for pnoy to get elected (yeah, out of topic). but the decisions were made according to the rules and we have no choice but to abide by them. just because they won does not mean it was right. they simply won. and we should move on.

but this is a wake up call for manny. he's just been into too many things lately and he lost focus.

UkEng i thought you said on your post above that you are not a judge at the ring side hence in effect cannot make a good judgment. Now you watched the replay on TV and suddenly you are convinced that Pacquiao lost fair and square? What the...?

Saw the Fight last night. With due respect. It was not a convincing fight by Pacquaio compared to some of his former fights, so the decision is not surprised.

they should conduct an investigation and jail these judges if proven guilty..

these happened so many times in boxing sports..

boxing should not tolerate these for it not become like WWE TV series shows that is controlled by a director..

its so sad to see a hard working boxer like Manny losing a fight just to generate money..

Pacquiao got robbed!

Bradley's manager had scored this fight 9-3 for Pacquiao, no one at ringside could believe what the judges saw.

BTW to those gringo-haters I have a good story for you:

In 1993 Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez fought at the Alamodome. Whitaker outboxed Chavez's ass over and over just to earn a majority draw.

You got it! A Mexican beat a gringo in his homeland. I was very young and naive and that's the day when I said to myself that I would not believe in this bullsh*t sport anymore.

Boxing in the US of A are always controlled by Mafia... moreso Las Vegas. This is where the money comes... its big time gambling!

Setting aside the money making scheme of promoters like Arum. That's why the fight contract has a rematch clause if Bradley wins... and thats it! Pacquiao loses... so another money making fight in the process.

Because its hard to believe that errors for scoring by the judges are still the reason for wrong decision in awarding the rightful winner. We are now in an era that counting the hits for every round can already be accurately ascertained... through replay of recording.

But thats how it goes... Boxing is still gambling!

It's purely a Bob Arum's Game, both fighters are under his stable, if there will be a re-match for sure Pacquiao will win so it will become a trilogy.. more money for BA.
