Swimming this Summer in Doha

Friends,
With the advent of summer and the visions of more heat to come,I have been looking out for places that people can use to swim and keep trim or just enjoy themselves in water.
I did some research and I have gathered the following information. Just posting it here - so that may be some other QL members might benefit or if some one has some additional information, they can add along so that everyone can use it.
1. Some one brought me the brochure of Aspire Active today and I was so excited thinking at last, I could get admitted into some sort of structured program there.
When I called the reception, they told me that the summer program was fully booked and I could hope for a slot only in september and that too , only if I am lucky- so thats out for the present now folks but what they offer sounds impressive and tailormade for many of us QLers who are sedentary in habits after years of staying in Qatar. They have fitness exercise classes with aero Combo and Latin Combo which means latino dancing I think. Then they have step and conditioning with interval step, step challenges , Tae Bo, Body Conditioning work outs, Pilates, Core training exercises, flexibility and strengthening exercises, body shads, exercises to tone the legs, bums and tums, groove, hip hop, and also walking exercises -and they actually have a walking group. In addition they ahve a health and weight management class( again full up for the present)and swimming programs which include teen aqua, women's recreational swimming, women's stroke and technique improvement, girls - improve your stroke, woman's master technique, women's aqua fitness. You need to be a member of Aspire Active to get even considered as a participant. A test is conducted to assess your level of competence.
2. Hamad Aquatic center: Slots available - public can use the pool on payment of QR 90/week- so thats available for now.
3. H2O swim club: Different summer programs commence later this week- this seems to be a fun program.
Folks this is what I could gather- please do feel free to add .

They told me all registrations closed for now and perhaps we could try in August.

I am trying then. Apparently it is so much in demand.

all the info you need is at

http://www.h2oswimclub.com

or

http://www.waterclubqatar.com

Just as general approach H2O venues are in the ASD indoor/outdoor pools.

And Water Club Qatar is in the Intercon Hotel.

PS: both clubs are related!!!

I tried to join Aspire Active for Ladies but unfortanutely to get in the door you would need a club membership. I just wanted to check the facilities to register but no card no entrance. So i was sent to pillar and post and after climbing 16 stairs in the 47 degrees heat alas i realized i have done enough exercise to last my a lifetime. I will thus stay with my gym subscription at Sharq Hotel.
