tong

i didn't say qatar is not racist (nor that it is).

i said the cameraman's choice in picking who to shoot or not may not be motivated by racism, but rather by cheering.

You may be right. Qatar is not racist, but the ppl. About Filipinas, agreed. We cannot blame them, they are open to that. But I'm 100% sure, your ladies are doing dark things secretly as well. Hahaha. Maybe worst than flirting. Peace.

Thanks drsam, not because of your advise (of bringing flags, etc) as I personally don't want to be focused on cam (I just can't help but noticed that).

I thank you because you reassure me that Qatar is not racist.

mainly the cameraman picks the noisy cheering gesticulating (waving their hands, standing on chairs, shouting to the cameraman) or the one with flags or paintings on their faces. try doing the clown and u will get on TV, believe me! they are not racist or picky : they want to show how much people are joyfull and happy being in qatar ;)

last year, at the women games in february, all the shots were of indian crowd sheering Mirza (female tennis player).

1. We are trying to purchase Tickets, but they said the only available are those of Day 2, rest are already sold-out.

2. We get the tickets for middle section, but we are not allowed to enter, for whatever reason I don't know. So we take the upper section and obviously Middle Section is just halfway full.

3. Next day, we watched in the TV, and it's not full-packed, in fact - it's hollow (majority just purchased the tickets but waste it?). Sold-out?

4. In the TV coverage, they are only focusing the camera in the European and some Arab Audience. Is the media trying to project an image that Qatar is full of European (where in fact, full of Indians, Filipinos, Sri, Pakis, etc.) or just maybe because their faces are TV friendly (pleasant to look with) - us are not (I'm Filipino). hahaha. Hope I'm wrong. Peace.

This pic is probably of the first day in the afternoon around 4:30 or maybe just later than that. I was there late evening yesterday and noticed the crowd was good. The organisers also try to schedule matches of well known players late in the evenings.

Don't know about anyone else but I stopped going to such events years back.

One year at the tennis they wouldn't let us park inside (in the parking lot, which is there for decorative purposes only) so everyone parked on the road leading up from Oryx roundabout. After the fixture the police had given all the cars 500QR tickets.

We saw the ballz up at the Asian Games football final where the venue was changed from a large to small venue at the last minute, and then extra tickets sold, resulting in thousands of genuine ticket holders being locked out.

Then recently there was the Asian Cup final debacle...

Personally I'm not willing to take the risk that buying a ticket means just buying a worthless piece of paper.

OP ur not fair!

i was there yesterday tuesday 3rd, from 3:30 to 11:00 pm.

and i was sitting in sector A (precisely the one ur pic shows). the lower and middle section were 80% and 60% respectively full. i constantly checked because i like to rant, and say look, no body comes, but the attendance was OK for a preliminar round.

@ time bandit and any-chy

middle and upper section are same price, no seat numbers: anyone could have came down and sat in the middle section. and after federer-davidenko's game the organiser even invited those middle and uper to come down and sit in the lower section which by than (10:30 pm) was getting empty as everbody or almost left.

@ captain lost

or give day off, or try to hold events in the night which is the case in the exxon-mobile. but i still took tuesday off to watch the whole event.

TimeBandit, same here, i am not the fan of tennis, still interested to go, but timing, my office timings scuks :(

By timebandit• 4 Jan 2012 18:21

Yeah but I would have sneaked forward if I was in the back for this game. And if I was the organiser I would have tried to shift everyone down to fill a block.

Now this could be untrue, but I am told that part of the problem is that too many corporate tickets are given out to sponsors and important companies, who's staff then don't bother to turn out.

By ani_chy• 4 Jan 2012 17:55
ani_chy

well, the cheapest tickets are the ones at the back! so, that's y!

and it's cold here in Doha, and read the medical reports of flu diseases like influenza going up the grade! you don't want a sick and a coughing guy sitting next to you, do ya?

By timebandit• 4 Jan 2012 17:54

In the UK you would have to cue for such an event. I just wish I liked tennis, Qatar would be heaven for me.

!!!!!This would be a sight to remember for the trio, because this is NEVER going to happen elsewhere!

LOL.. Funny.. actually Qatar should give official day off on such occasions .. you know everybody here is working and busy.. although they want to be in such places

Why is everyone sat so far back, when there are better seats at the front?
