interesting qs....but dat wouldn't be possible unless the Qatari government decide on promoting cricket too...I've noticed cricket is basically played among expatriates here and nyways we don't have proper facilities to hold international matches....though since Qatar is interested in promoting sports, dis wud make a good proposition towards achieving their aim....

Very good question but i do agree that We don't have Standard ODI grounds and nothing has been done officially to request ICC to have special Interest in Qatar.

Moreover, we need local (Qatari) to get involved in this game as they have few recognized games (Football,Volleyball,Tennis, racing etc). In this way, cricket will get more fame and attention officially too.

Also,I haven't seen any efforts from our asian community who have strong identity/presence in Qatar to bring this sport to national level.

I'm very sure that Qatari Government will contribute an effective role to bring cricket on national levels.

Good question. How many cricket grounds have you seen in Qatar. Especially, the ones that can accomodate an ODI.
