Al-Manaa Mosque - the First Mosque of Lusail City in Lusail Marina
Qatari Diar announced the opening of Al-Manaa Mosque (Maps: Lusail Marina Mosque), the first mosque in Lusail City on the 1st of April 2022. The mosque is located in Lusail Marina Area and extends to 14,000 m² with a capacity to accommodate 3000 people.
There are many smaller mosques in neighborhoods like South and North Fox Hills but residents of Lusail City had been eagerly waiting for a ‘’main’’ mosque in the area which is now located in Lusail Marina. Hundreds of worshippers flocked to the mosque on its opening to perform Taraweeh (Ramadan night prayer). The mosque beautifully blends with the hypermodern infrastructure of Lusail City. The well-lit mosque stands out for its simplistic beauty having traditional and modern elements.
The mosque's interior is simple yet elegant with minimalistic decor, a beige backdrop, and golden lighting. Just like most of the grand mosques around the world, Lusail Marina Mosque also features a courtyard that is semi- open air that serves to accommodate a large number of worshipers. The courtyard also features an elevator that takes you to the first floor which constitutes the women’s prayer area and a library.
The mosque has two entrances as a means to avoid rush and congestion during prayer times, especially the Friday prayer. You can enter and exit from any of the two doors. The ablution area is set in a more discreet part of the mosque towards the back. The mosque is surrounded by parking spaces and the main parking space of the mosque can accommodate 125 cars.
The beautiful mosque is now open for daily prayers and Taraweeh for men, women, and children. The Taraweeh prayer is led by Sheikh Abdul Rasheed Soofi, known for his heart-touching voice and soothing recitation. To be noted: Children below the age of seven are currently not allowed during the Taraweeh prayer.
The corridors of the mosque also have spectacular views of the unmissable crescent-shaped Katara Towers. The Lusail Marina Mosque can be accessed by Lusail Tram (stop at Marina Promenade) via Doha Metro.
