All the major parks in Qatar have some distinguishing attractions so you can not really get bored of seeing the same parks again and again. Crescent Park, in the futuristic city of Lusail, also holds amazing attractions in its massive lush green area. The park is inspired by the desert environment and sand dunes with the fusion of Islamic-style gardens with various art installations by Qatar Museums.
The 275,000 square meters Crescent Park in Lusail was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Municipality and Environment His Excellency Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie. Also, have you heard? Crescent Park uses recycled water to irrigate its plants and is located in the sustainable city of Lusail.
Crescent park serves as a great green space that gives a chance to soothe the senses of those who live in the futuristic city and even outside Lusail. It is an excellent location for nature walks, bike riding, sporting (football & basketball), children's play areas, and viewing the beauty of the city from the Arch of the park. There is a very unique art installation called the Arch of Crescent Park which is perforated and illuminated from inside by different colored lights. The arch has a staircase inside that leads to the top and from there you can enjoy scenic views of the city.
Talking about the sports facilities, the park has a professional size football pitch with a dedicated seating area and goal posts that players can adjust. There are two acrylic basketball courts, a volleyball court, and well-lit playgrounds.
The park features a very unique and intricate kid's play area with sand dunes as the theme of the area. There is a huge pirate ship that children can climb on and inside. You can also spot a large red crab structure where the kids have fun while climbing it. Walking into the green maze at the park is another fun thing you can do with kids and family. The park has benches and shaded areas along the park.
Unfortunately, intensive construction is underway around the park which might cause inconvenience. But this will all end in a park surrounded by world-class facilities, road, and transport systems, making Lusail City more appealing to residents and visitors alike.
Location: Lusail, Qatar
Nearest Metro station: Lusail Metro station (Red Line). The park also has direct access to Lusail's tram system, linking the park directly with all areas of the city.
Timings: Sunday- Wednesday 7:00 am - 11:00 pm and Thursday - Saturday 7:00 am - 12:00 am
Rules and regulations: No littering, pets, and No BBQ allowed.
Facilities: Toilets, Ablution and praying areas, exercise equipment, two parking areas
Apart from the beautiful park, residents and visitors will also find family fun activities and world-class facilities, endless sporting choices in Lusail City. It is also home to the FIFA World Cup 2022, Lusail Iconic Stadium.
