All passengers arriving on flights originating from the United Kingdom, South Africa, Netherlands, and Denmark from December 22, will be required to stay at dedicated quarantine hotels.

This is listed as an ‘Important Update’ on Discover Qatar’s hotel quarantine booking portal.

According to the update, the below conditions will apply:

- All passengers arriving on flights originating from the UK will be required to stay at either Intercontinental Doha Hotel 5* or Mercure Grand Doha 4*

- Those who have already made hotel reservations in a different hotel, and are arriving before 6 am local time on December 23, will have their reservation automatically transferred upon arrival.

-  If you have already made your hotel reservation in a different hotel, and are arriving after 6 am local time on December 23, you will need to contact Discover Qatar before departure to change your hotel. You will receive a new UK, South Africa, Netherlands, or Denmark Quarantine hotel voucher. You will need to present this voucher to be permitted to board your flight.

- For arrivals up to 6 am on December 23, any differences in the cost of your original quarantine hotel will be eligible for a refund claim.

- After 6 am local time on December 23, you will be required to pay any additional costs between your original hotel booked and either of the mandatory UK, South Africa, Netherlands, or Denmark Quarantine hotels, if there is a price difference.

- Equally, you will be eligible to claim a refund if your original quarantine booking was more expensive than the options available.

New bookings made on or after 13.00 local time December 22

- All new bookings will be required to book a UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark Quarantine hotel for your mandatory quarantine stay in Qatar.

- All new bookings from 13.00 local time 22 December will be required to present a UK, South Africa, Netherlands, or Denmark Quarantine hotel voucher to be permitted to board a flight departing from the UK, South Africa, Netherlands, or Denmark.

- Any bookings made on or after 13.00 local time December 22, not in a UK, South Africa, Netherlands, or Denmark Quarantine hotel for a flight originating in the UK, South Africa, Netherlands, or Denmark will be canceled at a 100% cancellation fee.

If you are not flying from the UK, South Africa, Netherlands, or Denmark

- If you are not on a flight from the UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark you should not book a UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark Quarantine hotel for your mandatory quarantine stay in Qatar; you will not be permitted to check-in unless your boarding pass states your journey commenced in the UK, and you will not be entitled to a refund.

- If you are not flying from the UK, South Africa, Netherlands, or Denmark, you should book your mandated quarantine hotel here.

Quarantine requirements have now been extended for all arrival dates up to February 15, 2021, for all arrivals including nationals, residents, and visa holders.

Quarantine requirements (hotel or home) will be determined by the country from which the flight departs and whether it is included as a ‘COVID Low-Risk Country’ or not. Check the MOPH website for the current list.
