Dear all, I am thinking of a road trip from qatar to india, if any members with similar thought kindly message / join to explore our dream road trip to further..
where there are challenges that is called adventure., I have travelled in middle east by road (4 countries).. I haven't detail explored but route can be QA-KSA-Kuwait-Iraq/Basra-Iran- PK-India.. I agree it will be risky but not impossible for a "group"..
Venkat: I believe that you are among those people who simply popped out of bed and then landed in Qatar. You found no time to look at the map of the region to find out where Qatar was located. Hence your "brilliant" idea of travelling to India by road.
But now that Molten Metal has agreed to join you with 3 of her friends, you plan the first part of the trip with her and swim across the Arabian Gulf to Iran. You can then start your trip by land passing through Afghanistan, Pakistan and then to India.
Just avoid going to Delhi as there is a major farmer's protest taking place there and there will be no one available to give you a grand "hero's" welcome!
You may find good company in one person Molten Metal who posts regularly at QL. Molten is always interested in such "adventures". I am sure Molten can bring along 3 friends,
Venkat: You are from a "rare breed", really. Possibly, you have never ever bothered to have a look at the map of the countries you will need to pass through and where they lie.
First of all, when you exit Qatar, will need to travel over the sea known as the Arabian Gulf. So your "road trip" will actually begin with a "sea trip"!
Your "road trip" will really begin will be in Iran which is a huge country. After exiting Iran, your next country will be Afghanistan that you will need to pass through. Unless you are totally unaware of the current situation in Afghanistan, passing through this country safely would just be a dream. Rumors say that even the president of Afghanistan rarely dares to leave his palace.
If you somehow manage to successfully travel through Afghanistan with your car not having been punctured a dozen times with bullets, you will land in Pakistan. It is very probable that your "dream to explore" may get cut short in Afghanistan. Once your in Pakistan, you can take some good rest in this country, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the hospitality of the people. Whenever you decide to exit Pakistan and enter India, you will need to be "extra careful" as there is a farmer's protest taking place. You will need to find a way to avoid that protest.
Finally, your "brilliant idea" of taking this road trip forces me to ask you a simple question: How much did you drink last night?
