UberGo UberGo where have the drivers gone?

Uber recently started its "cheaper" taxi booking service called "ubergo" where they clubbed Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic & Nissan Sentra as cheaper car service.

(So you can guess 1 or more rounds of price reductions are on the way by bringing in firstly Nissan Sunny & Suzuki Swift and then later Alto & Celerio class of vehicles.)

But what is the end result? Have more drivers found it profitable? Have more riders got more cabs?

NO! The customers are paying surge prices for UberGo cars meaning they are paying UberX prices for UberGo cabs!!! Isnt that a beauty that Uber has pulled off on the world? With their use of words Uber could sell a refreigator to the eskimo!

The few UberGO drivers you will get during offpeak hours are newbies or people who donot understand how the system works.

Uber has divided the number of cabs it has into half thus during off peak hours it has only half of its fleet (UberX) out on the roads. Its only during surge times that you find UberGo cars and even then the nearest one is at least 10 to 20km away that too in peak traffic times.

If you dont believe me check where your nearest UberGo cabs are on the map before you book. The expected time of arrival of Uber do not calculate heavy-or-peak-traffic. So the 10minutes or 15minutes mean they are 10kms away or 15kms away and that is the time they should reach you when there is NORMAL TRAFFIC and NOT during peak hours.

UberGo is a poor system and would flop in Doha because of the very reason that Doha is a very small places and most people take cabs only for short distances (below 10kms) so calling a driver from 15 to 20kms away to make a 5km trip would not work in Doha. I mean you could do that for a couple of days before the driver gets dejected and stops responding or just shuts down Uber.

UNLESS of course UBER sticks to its policy of picking drivers from 5kms radius. and not take more than 5% from its drivers!

Uber should keep a flat rate or Rs 1 per minute every ride and no surge.

Cant understand why Careem is doing almost exactly what Uber is doing? If it wants to compete with Uber it should at least price its service differently and be very transparent and right now its pricing policy is complicated and not very easy to understand exactly like UBER!

Perhaps they both know that there is a captive market
