Since 1998 I am living in alkhor. Its changed a lot from then. Now the rent is almost same or little higher than Doha. You have enough stores, primary health centre, money exchanges, restaurants etc, but bit difficult for those who has school going children. There is no schools for non arab. you have to send your kids to Doha for school...
A corniche is there, but not so beautiful as Doha. Still you can spend evenings over there.
A fish market is available where you can buy fresh fish.
