I have an Arab colleague who is 38 years old and the eldest of 7 siblings. They are 5 sisters, the youngest around 27 and none of them are married though all the brothers ages ranging between 24 and 36 are married. Besides that there are several Arab and local ladies working with me who are in their late twenties, early to late thirties and never been married. Some of my colleagues have aunties who are like 60 plus who stay with them bcoz they are spinsters. In Arab & Muslim culture women don't go around begging men on the streets to marry them. They have to patiently wait at home for their prince charming to knock their doors.. In short, they cannot do anything till they get a good proposal. They stay with their parents or brothers, remain virgins and pure all their lives till they get married.. Some never get married and die as virgins. In my country Pakistan, it used to be a norm for girls to get married in late teens or early twenties but lately it is not the case, the population of women is far more than men and many women end up being single.. In India that is not the case thanks to female infanticide. I find most Indian girls getting married at the right age but in Pakistan, spinsterhood is fast becoming a normal thing.
May Allah save us all from all this fitna.. May all girls get good partners at the right age.
