I agree with Gypsy, I too would like to find a place that plays some good alternative music. I don't care much for dance music.
I have been to Garveys a few times. It get's crowded and you have to push and shove for drinks. I went to the Rugby Club but it is way too small. The place fills up fast and there is no room to move. As with any club in Doha there are way more men than women. Rydges is probably my least favorite. Way too crowded. Of course I probably didn't enjoy those places because of my personality. I am more of a sit, drink and carry on a conversation type. I don't enjoy dancing, so dance music does nothing but irritate me. The sports bar in the Ramada is where I go more than anywhere. I can sit down have a drink and be able to carry on a conversation. If you like to party hard I would not recommend the sports bar.LOL
I haven't gotten out to the Corniche yet. I have been to the City Centre and the velagio. I am an addict of the virgin music store. I would like to do some fishing. Also, 4-wheeling on the sand dunes sounds like fun. A couple of my buddies keep planning a 4-wheeling trip but it keeps getting pushed back.
There were some good ideas on this thread. I think I will give those a shot.
