You, are responsible for this. Most countries requires you to have at least 6 month on your passport before it expires. It is normal for ticket agents to remind you of having an updated pass port but it is not a policy. So, in other words it is your responsibility to make sure your pass port is updated before you even buy the ticket. I had my pass port updated, I didn't get a new one but they put the updated stamp on page 13 because there was not room at the front. So guess what happens, even when I use my pass port as ID, the attendant will say to me your pass port is expired, even at the air port before boarding. Of course I always direct them to page 13. Any way are you saying that the airline did not honor your ticket for another day? did you buy insurance when you bought the ticket?
