European standard of living - from my European friends, they say the cost of living at their home is very high so they don't go out much, forced to cook (even the guys) to survive and do a lot of DIY stuff around their homes - to save costs. Their only binges are wine and beer.

Save for the last bit, I guess you can survive on QR9k, since your accommodation (which is the major expense) and car (including petrol bills and maintenance - also a killer in terms of burning a huge hole in your pocket) are taken care of.

I used to survive on QR700 but now average QR1 - 1.5k and occasional roaming trips.

If you are a regular pub crawler, then that might bust your budget.

As for "discovering and enjoy the "Qatari nightlife or daylife" - QL and the Natural History Group have very interesting activities and members and trips are organized by volunteers, costs are kept to a minimum.

"Travel around ME" - agree with Mandi - the costs of flying around ain't cheap. I haven't started flying around yet, so I can't tell.. yet.

By the way, I also agree with Mandi that for a professional's pay, that salary you quoted is rather low, unless you're a fresh grad or you're quoting basic salary only and not inclusive of allowances.

Please don't enlighten us on the details because that's confidential information between you and your company. I trust you are aware that this is an open (ie public, not private) forum and bosses and HR depts would understandably be rather pissed at indiscretions.
