When I was in Beijing quite a few years ago we cycled around the city. It was great fun. Now I think there are too many cars to do that safely. I should go back and see someday.
My experiences of French driving are sitting in the back of cars with white knuckles as various chauffeurs proceed to drive at top speed no more than 10cm away from the car in front. No matter what I say these drivers seem unable to drive in another way. As sad and tragic as it is, it is no surprise to me that Diana died with a French driver going at top speed. Apparently she may have survived if she was wearing her seatbelt.
