Dear mama-e,

I think that you will find that there are not many boarding schools located in the centre of London and that they may be rather more expensive than boarding schools elsewhere in the U.K. As a rule, the cost of a place at a day school in London is almost the same as as a boarding place in other parts of the country! If your child is not going to the airport every week, then I would look at schools further out from the capital. I used to teach at Norman Court School, near Salisbury, but maybe that is not much of a recommendation! There is an organisation in the U.K. called ISIS (the Independent Schools' Information Service). If your child is between the ages of 8 and 13 years old, then you could also contact the IAPS. (I cannot remember exactly what IAPS stands for, but it is the organisation for preparatory schools.)
