Sometimes what happens, while being employed in another country in GULF and due to buoyant market conditions, sometimes employers do not cancel the resident permit though employee properly resign and relieved from company premises. It is the employers responsibility to send a Public Relations Officer to the airport along with the employee to cancel the visa in the passport and also the residence permit. In some countries, like Oman, the employee can quit and exit the country (with visa cancelled in the Passport and Residence permit cancelled) and return within 1 week to another employer within Oman. Due to this policy of Oman Government, some employers loose their employees to other counterparts within Oman. So, rarely, employers take stand not to cancel the visa in the passport so that the employee cannot return to Oman for a minimum 6 months.(The rule says that if your residence permit is not cancelled or visa is not cancelled in the passport, you cannot enter again in employment visa to Oman for a minimum 6 months) . At the same time, in few cases, some employers do not wantonly cancel the visa in the passport thinking that the employee might return to Oman. As all agree, the employee can go to another country also for employment. In such cases, the persons will have already a resident permit in Oman before entering to another country like Qatar for employment.. I understand from the forum that Resient permit from other GCC to be cancelled before entering to Qatar. For no fault of employee, in this case, the Resident Permit will be open in Oman if a person chooses to go to Qatar.
1. Please advise what could be solution if someone do not have the visa cancelled in the Passport in Oman or not having the resident permit cancelled from Oman before entering to Qatar.
2. Does Qatar Government charge any penalty after landing in Qatar( employment visa) to cancel the Oman Resident visa.
3. Any cases happened to your folks though the employee properly resigns in Oman, clear the debt of loan from OmanBank and have a clean record in Oman, but due to the fault of employer at Oman, the employee facing problem in Qatar obtaining Resident Permit
Please guide and somebody share their thoughts in this matter.
