Try going to your embassy. The least they can do is to provide you and your family temporary shelter.

Your government would probably have negotiators who know more about the law and legalities in Qatar. Let them have a look at the contract, encashed checked, etc.. which you have and let them negotiate in your behalf. Also you may ask for some advice on how to deal with the post dated check which you may have issued.
