NASBA is the governing body in USA which gives the uniform CPA exam and each state has its own regulations with respect to the exam but the overall governing body is NASBA
CPA would be a little more valuable than Indian chartered accountancy but almost equivalent to ACCA. The only advantage that CPA has is that you become aware of the US GAAP and the IFRSs, whereas with ACCA, you can choose between UK GAAP and IFRSs. Eventually every country will adopt IFRSs and so for me, there is not much difference between the different accounting bodies as at present.
