If my memory serves right, i have had terrible experiences with hmc. I remember my baby sis having ear infection and had to be rushed to al saad 24 hr hospital. The treatment and care was excellent. However, to my greatest annoyance i couldnt help but notice the receptionist commenting "miskeen" that too with a smirk on the face.Yeeeeeeesh...that was in 1995. More recently, during last summer,A doctor in the emergency unit of HMC wouldnt hear a thing that my dad had to say when he was admitted in early hours of morning (3am to be precise). He finds patients opinion funny. My dad tried explaining him that he felt a very sharp chest pain followed my a spell of troubled breathings. He really didnt want to hear about the breathing thing and insisted that it didnt happen and it probably was his mere imagination. Oh and then he returned to his collegues chatting about his medication and how the pharmacist was unwilling to issue him his medication..yadda yadda...We need to improve the outlook bottoms up. No amount of polish and decor can achieve what 1st world countries can offer.. Atleast not at this rate. Over here in 'Down under' i am glad that things are great, even if they are a shade or two behind in the polish and decorum area. Any racist remark, any negligence, and the next thing you know, ordinary civilians including but not limited to the tradesmen (skilled carpenters, bricklayers, plumbers etc) or even a person living under welfare program can sue the living soul off the offender.
i still like the medical infrastructure and every thing. HMC is well known for cardiac surgery etc. Then again there is a long way to go when it comes to attitude that people possess, its medieval...and....also very sad.
