"To claim that you feel "safer" walking in Canada or any other place than here, does that mean you prefer to be raped in your country (as this is a very common incident) than being looked at by men here"
No, it means that in my country, I am aware of which areas are safe and avoid the areas that aren´t. In Doha, chances are that you will get some nasty comment or stare from the minute you step out of your door, and I don´t live in a particularly dangerous or secluded area. Sorry, I cannot relate to the other part, that´s not so common where I´m from, but single parents are accepted by society.
I have never worn a miniskirt or strapless top in Qatar, because I know I would put myself at risk and in uncomfortable situations. However, yes, I am crazy about clothes, including miniskirts, shorts and bikinis..., which I wear regularly in my own country...but no, the idea isn´t to look like cheap meat. I´m sorry that you have that mentality. That´s the problem with most of the arabs that come to my country, that they see a woman walking with a miniskirt and they think they have the right to approach her or see her as "cheap meat".
