My wife had a normal delivery 2 months ago at Doha Clinic but we were very disappointed by the "Customer Care" in this hospital coz:
Few month before the delivery date,my wife was fellowed by a gyneco in Doha Clinic and she discuss with the anesthesist for the epidural(injection against pain during the delivery. Both doctors (Gyneco and Anesthesist) ensured her that they are recheable any time by phone and they will assist her and do the necessary during the delivery. The night of the delivery, when we arrived at the hospital around 12h00 am (midnight),there was no Gyneco,no anesthesist,no paediatrician in duty in the all clinic,we found only 1 nurse and the people working at the reception. The spasms became more and more intense and my wife really suffered, and finally the gyneco came 1 hour later after the nurse called her severy times in her mobile;and when we asked for the anesthesist, the nurse and the gyneco replied us that she is on the way.
Finally the anesthesist never came and my wife never had her epidural and she deliver normally after 3 hours of suffering.
We were disappointed because both the gyneco and the anesthesist doesn't respect their commitment. We choose Doha clinic and paid very expensive (around 7000 QR for delivery + more than 2000 QR as fees for the consultation, ultrason and all the tests during the pregnancy) unstead of public hospital because we were expecting to have a good assistance during the delivery such as epidural injection and a quick presence of the gyneco and anesthesist. It's like that in Doha they don't like to use epidural during the delivery because few weeks before my wife delivery, one of our neighbourg deliver in Hamad hospital and the doctors refused to give her the epidural injection.
So my advice is that, wherever, the hospital or clinic you decide to deliver, always keep the personal mobile phone of your gyneco and if you ask for epidural, discuss franckly with the anesthesist to know if she is able to do it for you or not and if you feel the first spasm, ask you husband to call himself immediatly the gyneco and the anasthesist to be sure that they are at the hospital or they will be there asap.
Bon courage
