I'm pretty sure a card you purchased now would work instantly as the guys would activate it, it's just a matter of finding out if any shops are open at this time.

Btw what kind of receiver do you have? if it's a receiver that you got from Showtime, I doubt a Jazeera card would work on it. You'll need a 'generic' satellite receiver, something like Humax or whatever.
