I would say yes, most repair places will not touch your car if you don't have the report especially if the car is leased. It is 112 QR for the stamp and the report and you need to go to the station that serves the area where the incident occurred. I just had my mirror knocked off and I need a letter from my sponsor also just to get the police report. So now I need two reports LOL.
