I must say I am often guilty of subconsciously assuming that local people pray five times a day and believe in God. I suppose because religion is such a big part of this culture, we often assume that the locals all believe in God. We therefore expect that they would do their best to represent this God that they claim to believe in...especially if they want others to think that its worthwhile to believe in the same God ... and then situations like this automatically cause us to question the religion and we get all confused (silly of course, but subconsciously i think that might be what is happening)
I might be wrong. i'm very tired so this is just random scribbling.
