I am pretty sure that Qatar Academy teachers live in one of the "Education City" compounds, which house people who work at a variety of schools/universities. The one I've seen is lovely, with a shaded park in the middle and a pedestrian bridge being built over the road to a neighboring one where there is a large pool. You would have access to great facilities as employees of QA - as you probably would working in Dhahran. You would live close to your school so have limited traffic problems, at least when going to and from work. I've met many teachers who work at QA and none have any complaints about housing or benefits. You CAN go out with your 4 wheel drive into the desert here, camp at the inland sea during half the year when it's not too hot (like now) and find beaches elsewhere where you might have to pick up a bit of trash but can be enjoyed.
