However, if someone who sells you a product makes a condition at the time of selling that you will not make copies of it and you accept that condition then one cannot make copies of it else does not recognize copyrights on anything.
I would advise that, to appreciate the hard labour exerted by the author,one should not make copies of books/videos/audios without the author or producer's consent.
Do you ever bought any licensed product, software or CD’s…I guess none of us have the courage….those software which are affordable by your pocket you can only think on it not once twice and thrice!!! Those things which are easily available by just spending 2, 3, or may be 100$ who would be ready to spend 500$??
Now since you said isn't it a sin?? Offcourse its a sin....let me tell you how ISLAM teach us while dealing those things in our personal life..but make sure that...None of us would comment on religious thoughts or Fathwa...since its a very sensitive matter and believes..It's all individual who follow is strictly or not...those who don't might be under some circumstances they can't.......
it is not permissible to copy software without permission from the original author or the copyright holder based on the following three haadeeth of the Prophet (peace be upon him):
(1) "Muslims are to honor their agreements (with others)";
(2) "A Muslim's wealth is forbidden for others to use without his permission;" and,
(3) "Whoever is the first to acquire a mubaah (something lawful to acquire) is entitled to keep it".
This applies to both Muslims and non-believers (who are not engaged in an act of war with Muslims) because the right of a non-believer is respected in the same manner as a Muslim's right. Allah knows best.
whatever is customary among people should be the rule except when a user wants a copy for himself and the author or the copyright holder did not explicitly prohibit copying the software for private or public use. However, if the author or the copyright holder specifically stated that private and public copying of the software is prohibited, then it is not permissible to copy that software.
Its not a sin...It's a CRIME....
