I went to Dalhousie University back in the ninties and could offer few information.
Halifax is a nice town and has 3 Universites and few colleges.
People in Nova Scotia are very nice people compared to other provinces.
For winter clothing, you have to wear the winter coat, golves, and warm hat. I advise that you buy the coat from Canada and not bring one from Qatar because you will not find the appropriate type in Qatar.
School is not hard but you need to work hard to go by.
