Japanese are a bit weird in term expressing their feeling. sorry to fellow japanese here.. but its only my opinion and base on my experience interact with other japanese.
like today, me and my colleague went to thai noodles restaurant in al jabr souk. the restaurant was empty just us and two other table accopied. one of the table are 4 japanese and from the time they sit till the almost finish eating none of them are spoken... this is time when we left the restaurant. and we all think like... hey are they praying or what? cos their head is down and not spoken single word.
if they are colleague for sure they something to say about work and person in office right, just like we normal people do socialize.
