Go with friends.  Dinner is OK, nothing special.   All your do is float around the bay for an hour or two.   It's something to do (hard to find here) and something to check off the list.     We just went down by the Sheraton and signed up with a guy the day before we went.   You can just go on the ride and don't have to pay for the dinner.   I think with dinner it was around 150QR per person.
