Good luck with your move to Qatar, I recently relocated here with my husband and there is much to recommend it. As to your salary package, I don't think you are being ripped off at all, but also, its not the most fab in the world considering it includes your housing. You dont state if you are coming alone or with a family but a three bed property is going to cost you more than QR10,000, most likley it will be around 14 -18K - even out of town. If you are alone and going to get a one bedroom place, you could find something nice for around 9/10K per month. Cars are not cheap to rent or buy here, and eating out in the good restaurants costs around 800QR for two, so you get an idea. Being tax free helps as well, and the working hours are probably less than in the UK, and the commute to work will be easy too. All things you are likly to want to take into consideration. I hope this helps, and if I were you, with your experience and qualifications, I would push for more money or a housing allowance.
And Selani, your sarcastic comments are disingenuous and helpful. Spiteful comments like that do nothing to enhance your profile or to promote the country to those who have not been here. This person had a reasonable and genuine concern and didn't deserve such unpleasantness from you.
