First, your company should have another visa for you, like IT position or computer eng'r position. This is required to be available at the time of changing your RP, if not, they will never or ever change your designation, worse you can't sponsor your family residence for that matter. Majority of the companies are doing it just to get the manpower in quickly, promising them that they could chnage it easily. Yes it's easy to say ! however in reality, if they don't have clearance from labor department,you stay on that RP for the rest of your contract.Cheers! hope you get an insight of companies not having the clearance for higher position category.Believe me, one of my friend has been on laborer position for the last 5 years & still no change, his sponsor is one of the big companies in Qatar.
