Seriously, folks, I think that there have been some excellent suggestions made by other contributors. When a language really becomes a useful tool, then children are much more motivated to learn it. This is why introducing your child to English-speaking children is so vital.

 

The educational theorist Piaget argued that many children learn on what he termed the "concrete operational" level. To a child who never meets English-speaking children, learning English is too abstract and meaningless.
