My wife has just gone out there to doha.

we heard stories of 1 years rent in advance as the deposit, but can be negoiated to 2 or 3 payments. this is being confirmed by a few people there as well, as one of the arab lawyers in my wifes firm who has offered to speak to the landlord on  our behalf to reduce this. I do wonder if it is a trust element, with the number of non qatari coming into the country, but i maybe wrong.
