Seriously guys if you want to pick up a fight go elsewhere. I personally didn't say it was boring - i've picked it up from travel magazines/wikitravel etc. The thing is for a tourist it is boring comparatively (to Dubai, Muscat etc) unless you guys take these tourist out to show them a good time. I ain't gonna take them out.
I quite enjoy myself out here.
wrt to work - The relaxed atmosphere, two day weekend (when there is less work), non demanding clients etc etc
wrt to extracurricular - some of the best tennis courts i've played in the world (QTF), sailing - including barbecue and drinks on the dhow, inland sea and dune camping trips in my own 4x4,decent party places (paloma is my hole)etc etc
It still has way to go though - more entertainment places, more extracurricular activities, better dining places which have wine and dine...i cd go on and on.I'm sure Qatar will soon have these and i'm hopeful.
Qatar is copying the Dubai Business model. Period. Atleast trying to. This is both in relation to financial regulations and attracting investors/tourist.
