Because they put too much effort into making a soft drink...I mean really, its obviously an overpriced product...why do you ask...well...since the key element is taken from Pigs sausage, that means that they take a perfectly good pig, slaughter it, make pork sausage, and then extract the key ingredient from the Pigs sausage. Too much effort...why doesn't Coke just sell the sausage and cut out the middleman? My biggest question is whether or not they actually do sell the sausage afterwards, but without the key ingredient...if so do people know that they are buying sausage without this key ingredient...sounds like a job for consumer advocacy groups so that they can protect people from purchasing these sausages that have been altered...or at least have them labeled as having this key ingredient removed for use in Coke and Pepsi.
