hi, i myself worked in Kuwait for 2 years, and been to Doha. And i would say id prefer Doha, why? because of the reason stipulated by Dweller and DeeDee above.
But then it depends what nationality you are. If you are of arab root or ethnicity, you'll find it better here. Yes people arent that friendly, they are also proud, and ive never see any news everyday but Filipinas being raped or murdered their employers because of abuse, insanity or maltreatment. Jeez... its always Kuwait on the news.
There is less freedom in Kuwait than in Doha, thats 101% sure. For one, there is no alcohol and the culture is very conservative. Cant even take pictures of the Kuwait corniche without being vigilant and discreet. Otherwise people will hound and scream at you.
The south side (Fahaheel and further) is much more linient, and if you think the south side is strict? well i lived in the capital, and the neigboring districts and its totally crap. Too much discrimination and stereotyping.
