Congratulations Qatar for atleast making it to this stage. It is unfortunate that they didn’t make it through. But on the positive side, Qatar might change for the better inorder to change the way the world see's it.

The games would have surely brought a lot of exposure to the country. Anyways all is not lost, Qatar still attracts a lot of sporting activities – Qatar Open, Power Boat Racing, Motobike GP, Golf etc. and I’m sure they’ll attract additional top sporting activities – IT IS THE SPORTING CAPITAL OF THE MIDDLE EAST - again Dubai competing with tht tag too and winning.

One should not mix politics with the Olympics. The Beijing games clearly prove that. So whatever is said about Qatar human rights records etc has nothing to do with its loss.

Perhaps in its next attempt it would need to make a better bid. I’m not sure how Qatar can counter the change in Summer Olympics to a winder schedule (around Nov-Dec) – perhaps influence the IOC officials. It would need additional reforms in promoting tourism (which would result in additional hotel rooms, security, recreation activities – basically things to do, transportation – all essential requirements in hosting the games). There are lot of ideas flowing outta my head but I don’t hv time to jot them down cause IT’S THE WEEKEND AND I WANNA GET HOME hehe

To sum it all – if there is anything I can do to further develop or influence officials to get something done in Qatar, I’ll try my best to do so – cause at the end of it all – I’m staying in Qatar and I do want to show it off to friends and family who visit me - tht it is the best place in the world to stay. Qatar has a lot to do and catch up else the next games in the middle east will be in Dubai. That will not surprise me.
