Brit expat I agree with you in that we need to stop coming up with conspiracy theories. That is a huge problem in the muslim community.

I do not agree that they are burying their heads in the sand though. The majority of muslims actively detest all terrorist acts and have voiced this in numerous ways. From writing books, speaking on television (though this has been cut out by the media), and having anti terrorism conferences. In every mosque in the uk terrorism is usually talked against and in most islamic circles people talk against it.

The people of saudi arabia are not religious. Although the country is the land of Tawheed and religion is taught in the schools very few people bother to practice properly and are extremely cultural and corrupted.

It is no surprise that a pocket in saudi arabia could aquire such weapons as it is very easy through family connections to get a hold of such things. All one needs is to have a fanatical prince on his side. Or perhaps the guy who buys saudis weapons. My ex husband's uncle bought the weapons for saudi from America and UK and got a cut from each from each country. Through him alot of people could easily grab hold of such things without the goverment even knowing about it. Saudi has alot of corruption!

However, I would seriously doubt that this was some huge organization let alone connected with some made up Al Qaeda that doesn't even exist. It was most likely a group of muslims who wanted to show westerners a lesson!

This type of ideology is a threat. Their is no doubt that a large number of muslims carry these beliefs however I have never heard of nor seen any such organization as the one constantly talked about on TV. To be honest, most muslims are all talk and no action.
