You were the one that bought him into this not me I just merely asked a question in relation to what happened during the war it had nothing to do with what "god" he prays to it is a fact that considering what you are saying than chances are if your grandfather was on the island at that time then he would have more than likely made up part of the Indian militia on the island was more than likely Muslim and was there fore forced by the Japanese to pray to the Shinto gods instead of his own, also on that the chances were if he didn't pray at the shrine then he would have more than likely been killed
